Islandeering: Adventures Around The Edge Of Britain’s Hidden Islands

Lisa Drewe has hiked, biked, paddled and swam around 160 islands of the British Isles. Here she shares what drives her passion and what she has discovered on the outer edges of Britain. She talks of the communities she’s met, the wildlife she’s seen, the challenges she’s overcome and what makes islands so special as she takes us on a whistle-stop tour of her favourites.

Dr. Lisa Drewe invented the term 'Islandeering' to describe her passion and argues it shares the same psychology as climbing to the summit of a mountain. Islandeering is making a circular journey around the outer edge of an island by any means possible - walking, scrambling or paddling, and Lisa has since authored a book: 'Islandeering: An explorer's guide to the islands of Britain.'
